Hi all

I know this may seem very rude of me, but I'm quite the novice when it comes to access at the moment. I was hoping if I explain my situation (below) someone would be kind enough to whip me up a rough database?

The situation-

Small company consisting of 3 tables (Customers, Products and Orders)

Customers table: ID, Customers code, Customer Name, Address Line 1, Address Line 2, County, Postcode, Telephone Number, Fax and Email

Products table: ID, Product code, Product Name, Dimension, Length, Current stock, Available Stock, Stock on order, Price ext VAT and Price inc VAT

Orders Table: ID, Order reference, Customer code, Product code, Quantity, Total Price ext VAT, Total Price inc VAT and Paid

More fields may be added as this is just a rough starting point basically.
Also in the orders table, one order can have products, I'm pretty sure this has something to do with a one too many relationship but like I say it's been so long since I used access properly I’m out of touch with it.

Like I said I know this may seem incredibly rude of my but will be ever so grateful if anyone has the time to help me.

Also if you need further information please just say.

Thanks

Lloyd

Suggest you look at the the Access sample database Northwind

Wow...that is actually perfect! Now i can chop and change things around learning as i go! Exactly what i needed!

Thank you!

Just wondering now if you or someone could help or point me in the right direction. Regarding the northwind sample database -

The log on dialogue box, say you wanted that to be username and password to access it, how would you go about that?

Thanks

Lloyd

Lloydyboy,

You might want to look into Access's built-in user-level security. Here is, at least to me, a decent tutorial that walks you through the basics: http://databases.about.com/od/tutorials/ss/usersecurity.htm.Good luck with your project. I just finished my first Access database that other people are going to use, so I know where you are coming from.
