Creating a website database from a field in a table

I am using Access 2003 on a PC running under XP Professional. I have a table called Contacts with a Field named PRN where each contact is allocated a unique 10-character personal reference number comprising 5 capital letters plus 5 digits. I want to use this field as a database on a website as an entry portal to a restricted part of the site. There are about 1500 records in this field. What is the best way to create a suitable database for uploading to my website, please?

Is your Website server Windows or Linux based? This will affect the possible database choices.

You would probably be best to look at MYSQL and PHP.
