I am using the Order Management database in Access 2007. I have tried to create an invoice but to no avail. I would greatly appreciate help. The problems I have are that either all data appears in lines:
1 customer orders 3 items, the invoice shows 3 items with the customers name 3 times or
Not all products show in the invoice.

I have used the wizard, but doesn't give me what I need. I would like an invoice along the lines of the Northwind example. I have a query with all the info I require. I just can't get it into an invoice like format that works!!

Can anyone give me some basic help in setting up the invoice.
How should it be grouped etc.

I know some basics in access so will require simple descriptions if possible.

Thank you so much in advance.

If you have created the query already you are more than half way there.

What I would look to do is create a report in Design View (at this point not attached to anything), then look at the properties and select the source to the query, you should then beable to get the field names that are available.

Then look for groupings from the View options at the bottom of your screen and group by Company names (this should give you just the company name in the group header).

Next place 1 text field from your list in the data section and get rid of the label. make sure everything is fairly tight from the group header to the detail section. Now once you hav aligned the field to the left of the reprot in the detail section you can then look to copy and paste the same field, you can align the field to the right of the first field then you look at changing the record source in the property of the pasted field, continiously change the view to Print Preview to see how it looks.

If you need calculations like how many items they can go in the group header or footer and also sums extra if you are showing costs.

See how you get on from here.

Thank you Trevor. I will work through your directions and see what I can come up with.
