Creating report in design veiw

Good morning, I'll start out simple. I'm experimenting with creating a report in design veiw and have already encountered a problem. I put a text box control on it and have been trying to get it to show the "LASTNAME" field from the "PERSONNELINFO" table. I used the expression builder and I'm getting errors "#name". I'm thinking that I'm missing the way to add tables/quieries to the report to draw information from. Thanks, Tim
 
Sooooooooo, somehow I used the properies for the report, added the quiery that had my data and am now building a report using the drag and drop from the quiery window. Next question, can I add a query or Table after I've started in on the report and if I creat a report using a wizard can I add queiries and tables to it too???? Later, Tim
 
If I am understanding your question correctly you are asking whether you can change the record source of the report after it is initially created. The way to do this is to go into design view of the report and go into the properties. You can choose from the drop down which table or query your report should be based on rather than going through the wizard again. Also you will notice there is a button with 3 dots to the side of this so if you are using a query and you wish to add in more tables to your query you can do so by selecting this which will then bring up your query window.
