Can someone who knows please clarify for me.

I know that Access 2013 is deprecating Pivot tables and Pivot Charts.

In particular is a pivot table different from a crosstab query?

Basically I'm asking do crosstabs queries still exist in Access 2013

Thanks got myself confused.

Bump anyone?

Wondering whether anyone can confirm are cross tab queries still available in Access 2013?

== NOT specified to Access 2013, as I dont have *access* to that ==

Pivot tables and Crosstab's are basicaly the same thing, Crosstab was the "limited" access version, Pivottable was the more functional more extended version available in Excel

Thanks Liam / male man

I was hoping they might be different and Access 2013 might have chosen to deprecate a feature that I didn't use.

I put it into Google and this is what I got

I think that must be Access 2010 he's doing that demonstration in???
I still don't know anyone who actually has Access 2013 so can't check out for myself.

the title says 2013, so I will assume its 2013... and indeed it looks 100% same as it does in 2010/2003

Ok I'm changing this post again!

namLiam I am receiving a report from a lad in Linked In who has Access 2013 who has indicated that his version of Access 2013 has cross tab queries allowed.

I guess we won't be able to confirm it till we actually see it for ourselves. You know I love MS but they haven't half done a good job of confusing everyone on this one... What with saying they're deprecating pivot tables and then apparently not.

or maybe they have

or maybe they've not

or they have not maybe.

MODS we may want to delete this thread if it turns out cross tabs are still in..!?!?!?

This is a bump so you can read the above.

Really cant imagine them cutting out anything all together...
There has to be some sort of replacement or "work around" to replace the existing and widely used functionality

I have Access 2013 in front of me and you certainly can create Crosstab Queries in a desktop system; there's even a wizard for it.

Appreciate the confirmation BeeJay

It would appear I have been confused between the difference between Pivot tables and cross-tab queries (I don't think I'm the only one). This is actually a major plus point for me about Access 2013.

It's very probably future proofed all my desktop systems so I'm pretty glad about this.

JUST to be clear everyone CROSS-TAB QUERIES STILL WORK IN Access 2013
