Custom Formula for conditional formatting?

Your help will be much appreciated.

I am trying to apply conditional formatting in Excel using a formula. My question is - is it possible to use not the basic Excel formulae (like Len etc) but the custom formula programmed in the add-in .xla file?

I would love to see some samples. Thank you!
