Customer Contact list??!!

Hiya all!!

Need a bit of help with reporting now. I have done my invoice reports and they have come out looking very professional. My boss is extremely impressed with me. (Good G00d)

Anyhow seeing as I got that done pretty easily I thought that doing a report of all our customers contact details on would be a piss of cake. Was it??........ No It wasn't.!!! It was a lot harder than I thought it would be!!
I have viewed the Northwind sample database that comes with Access and don't understand how they have done it. I have tried it with a text box but then I get the Label and then the box I have tried it with a Label but that doesn't work either as you always get two boxes don't you.

On the Nothwind database Customer Labels report Design view. They only have ony box with he following espression in it Trim+([CompanyName]). Where is the box that is usually in front of these boxes?

How can I do mine so that when I print out my reports I have only the customers details and not "Customer Name" followed by the details??
Somehow they have achieved it on Northwind but I have'nt the foggiest on how they have done it.

I have explained it as best as I can I hope.
I just want rid of one of the boxes that comes when you try to do a label or a text box.

When you create a textbox you also get a label. To erase the label do this.

Click on the textbox the click on the label, it's now selected seperately.
Press the delete button.

Should do it.

Thank you for that. I can;t believe that it was as simple as that. When I first read your answer I was kicking myself for not figuring it out myself how dum can you get init??

Help Me again

Hello I just tried to do the Customer labels again and now for some reason unbeknown to me it is not working. I copied the formula from the Northwind database and it doesn't work.????

Basically all I want to do is create a report with all our customer contact details on. Something like a mailing list with Mailing labels ya get me??

As I said before I thought this was gonna be easy compared to the invoice report I have just finished but boy now I just can't figure it out and it's now doing my head in.

Please has someone else out there done a customer contact list or mailing labels if they have how on earth did you do it???

Basically its like Customer Address Labels but with the contact numbers listed also. listen to me with the "BASICALLY" business. IF it was that basic I would not be on here asking these questions would I??

Any input would be great cos I am now at the end of my tether. Just as I think I have sussed it and am on my way to nearly finishing the basics of the design something else pops up.
 
Keep trying!

Have you tried using the report wizards? they will create a basic report for you and also mailing labels - it's very easy. You might also want to get some books - what you are doing is pretty much basic stuff and can be answered in any beginning level access book.
