I just went to the Tools drop-down menu, to access the Customize option, only to find that it's missing. I've tried running a sub procedure to restore tool bars, but that didn't help.

Is there an easy way to get this menu option back?

Did you try to holding the shift key down when you open the database?

I hadn't. Just tried it. Didn't help, unfortunately.

Is it gone regardless of the database you open?

Have you tinkered with the startup options?

Not that I'm aware of (wouldn't know how, to be honest).
I used the Customize option to create a new toolbar, then when I went back to try to edit that bar the option was gone.

Geeze, got me on that one. Sorry - Maybe someone else will offer some help - :)

Well, you're no help at all.
Kindly leave the forum. :D

Okay, a bit of fiddling with the menus and it's back.

In case it's of any use to anyone else, I went to View - Toolbars - Customize. On the Commands tab, I picked Tools and dragged Customize back into the Tools menu.

You need to go to Tools > Startup > Allow Toolbar/Menu Changes and check the box as it sounds like it is unchecked. You then have to close the database and reopen in order to get Customize back.

Thanks for the tip, but it was already checked.

Is your Allow Built In Menu check box checked and have you closed the database and reopened? Also, make sure you're doing this on an mdb file and not an mde file.

Oh, and make sure your Main menu is set to Default in startup options as you might have taken away the customize from the custom menu/toolbar as well and you'll need the main menu/toolbar to be able to get the customize and then you can go to the particular custom one in the list and click properties.

In order:
Done and done.

Thanks again.
