DAO vs ADO

i have been programming in both these object models for ages, but could not explain to someone what exactly the difference is.

Can anyone explain this in a few simple sentences?

So if ADO still use JET I presume?

Don’t know if this Link by Michael Kaplan will help but it’s a starter.
It’s a few years old so some of the issues raised may have been fixed.
