Data Entry On Form Keeps Rounding Up or Down

Hi there

I have a form I use for entering employees times. When I put in say 9.5 it automatically rounds down to nine. If I put in 9.75 it rounds up to 10

In the table for employees hours in design view (General) I have set the hours to 2 decimal places but it still rounds up or down.

Has anyone got any suggestions

You may have to change the Data Type/Field Size in the table to Single or Double. Integer and Long Integer don't work with decimals.

I reckon you have set the Field Size to Long Integer or Integer. Change it to Double.

In that case there must be some Formatting set in the control's Format property.

Can you attach a stripped down version of your db and tell us how to replicate the problem.

Okay

I have attached a copy of my data file and mdb

When you open mdb click on Open Database

Then click on Enter Employee Hours Button

Insert Date

Select Employee

Insert Hours

That particular (sub)form has a table named tmpEmployeehours as its data source.

The Data Type/Field Size for that particular field is set to Integer, which doesn't work with decimals. Change it to double.
