Hi, I've created a salary/payroll database.. Everything is working fine except when I updated the salary of the employee.. and try to generate previous reports, what I'm getting is based on the current salary... I dont know how to correct this..

ex.

Month of April 2012 = salary is 2,500... so all the overtimes and other adjustments will be based on 2,500... as well as the reports....

Month of May 2012 = salary is increased by 300 so it comes to 2,800...

the problem now is that when I tried to generate the month of April reports.... it will based on the current salary which is 3,800.... how can I correct this? any suggestions?? Thanks

take note that I have a table for salary... that means I have 2 records for a person who got increments and so on..
 
you either need

- to add a table to store old salary rates in order to obtain the rate at any particular date or

- save the current salary rate in the appropriate record instead of looking it up as you are doing.

maybe both, in this case!

Thanks for the reply... I think the first one is not so good.. but the second one gives me something to think of... the real problem is everytime I enter the employee ID (In my form).. it will automatically get the current salary (From salary table).. what I need to do now is to have that salary as if it is manually entered like what's you are suggesting so that even when there are changes in their salary.. the reports will be the same.... I think i need to search some code for this.. Thank you so much for the time.... I really appreciate it....
