Database Fails to Open

Help Please!

I have had two instances in the last two days of database which have been running perfectly ok via Windows Scheduler for years, that have suddenly stopped opening. The database file itself is still visable in the network location, however if you try and open the database, Access opens but the actual database does not. I thought a first the window was just not visable, but this is not the case. The database does not open at all. Luckily, I have back ups and can also restore in Windows 7 (which I'm still not quite sure how windows 7 does this if anyone knows??!!) but I'm a little worried that it's now happened twice in as many days.

Anyone had a similar problem?

All I can suggest is restore from your back up and set the database to compact on closing which can prevent corruption in the future. Have a search on the forum first though as their are circumstances where compacting isnt a good idea.
