This database is not something I designed. Someone else started it and then just quit. I cobbled together something, but I know that it isn't that good because to make it work I had to split the database into 6. Probably too many reports, but that is because I don't know how to code. If someone could look it over and give me some direction (and maybe even a link or two on web based tutorial for the coding) I'd much appreciate it.

Hi Alliandrina,

Welcome to the forum. If you can post your database as a .mdb you may get a better response. some of us are still using Access 2003 and are not able to open a .accdb file.

After looking at database I can see what you are trying to acheive but the data needs to better organised.

The are various Questions relating to the age of the Student and How long they have lived in the USA? :- (Q6 Q23 Q44)

What Languages are spoken at Home? is FreeForm but have is reported on this should be controlled by a Table. An added complication when the is can be Languages Spoken at Home as opposed to be predominant language spoken at home. I would have Main Home Language and Secondary Home Language (Other Response is not Helpful.

Is the objective to track responses (lets just take from the student preceptive) from pre & post 4th Grade to pre & post 6th Grade?

I notice that some the questions (between surveys) asked of the students are slightly different.

Sorry if this sounds a little negative but the concept is there but the data organisation is a bit hard to phantom.

Yes, Simon- that is pretty much it spot on. I know the design is sloppy, but again- it wasn't something I had designed. At the time I came onto the project, I didn't even realize that it was not organized. Now, i do know- I just don't have the knowledge necessary to fix it.

*I did try to save it in the other format, but I wasn't given that option*

Can you help me:

tblFormStudentPre4th

Student 138 Q1=16 Q2=21 Q3=26 Q4=28 Q5=33 Q6=36 Q7=40 Q8=45 Q9=48 Q10=49

Which Questions do these relate to?

What do these values represent?

Simon
