Database is overwriting current data

Hi,

Our access 97 database has started to overwrite current data,
basically the Autonumber isn't creating a unique number anymore. Any ideas?

Have you run the compact and repaire tool? I have found in the past when the autonum goes nuts, that usually take care of it.
