Date again

in another database there are alredy dates entered . i want the default date to be whtever the currebnt date is but when i put Date() in the default value box it givews me the error shown below


Unkown function "Date" in default value on file people

=Date() in Default Value of the text box or whatever your field is.

i still get the message as stated in the first thread. if i enter now() it will work. but i do not want the time
