Hello
I have a simple form and each record on the form starts with a date - the date the information is entered.
I would like to set this to default to the date the record is entered - to save the user having to enter.
In addition there is a field for the week of the year and the business period (1 to 13, each a 4 week period). Having read one or two threads on this site it seems it is not done to store info in tables when it can be calculated instead. I would therefore like to set these to be calculated from the date field, but I am not sure how.
I am also in the process of creating a form to track a pipeline of forecasted invoices. I am assuming that provided there is a date against each forecasted invoice entered I will be able to calculate a rolling forecast 3 periods in advance from todays date ? (ie. I will be able to enter a calculation somewhere that sums the invoices in each period even though the period isn't actually stored).
any suggestions much appreciated,
cheers,
Toby.
