Yeh.

Basically, when I choose the Data Type for my field "Date" as Date/Time, all dates are in:

month/day/year format.

I need day/month/year format!

How is this possible?

I know this question might have been answered many times before, but the search facility is not working from my home computer for some reason.

Many thanks!

Change its format property then. You have already used the syntax.

dd/mm/yyyy

  • And don't have a field called Date in your database - it's a reserved word in Access.

ok..

I can't find any dd/mm/yy format Mile.

Here's a screen capture of all the date options I have!

Don't select from the list; just type it in.

I used custom:

dd/mm/yy

But When I enter 12/8/03 on my form,

It automatically changes to 8/12/03

Why?

(Grrrrrrrrrr)!

Thanks Mile for your help!

Someone else on another forum suggested that!

My default language is: English (UK)
My time is: GMT (for London)

The information above is local and CORRECT!

But I still have the problem!

What Can I do?

yeh thanks!

It did work actually!

The regional settings on CONTROL PANEL had language set to English (US) and not English (UK)

That solved the problem.

Many thanks people!

:)

lol... then again people...

I was thinking...

Is it possible for the "Dates" field (updated name of the field "Date") to have TODAY's date automatically stored everytime?

When I make a transaction, it will be automated to TODAY's date.
But when I make a transaction tommorow, I want TOMMOROW's date automated. And I want this value to be stored on the table and not just viewed on the form please.

Is this possible?

(I'm sure it is. Search facility for some reason doesn't work from my computer, just like http://www.pipex.net webpage doesn't load from my computer) :(

Anyways, Many thanks!

use the now() function to get the current date

thanks sprax
but where do I enter that?

Now() returns the date and time. For the date only use Date()

IMO

thanks IMO,
but where do I enter it?

And will the value be stored or just displayedon the form?
I need the value to be stored!

In the Default Value of the text Box type
=Date()

If the TextBox is bound it will be stored on every new record.

IMO
