Date Format Question

I'm a novice to Access and I know this may be a stupid question.

I have a date field.
I want the date to show as:

02/09/1980

and not

2/9/1980

How can I do this?

Goto Design View of the table. Select the appropriate date field. In the Format box, put mm/dd/yyyy.
