Hi,
I want to show all transactions which took place on the current date, so I put Date() in the criteria. However, I'm getting an error: "This expression is typed incorrectly, or it is too complex to be evaluated."
If I type a date (say 28-7-3), it would work perfectly.
Can't find where the problem is. Any ideas?

Is your field a valid date field? If you can type in 28-7-3 as is, then your field is not a date field.

it's a medium date

A medium date would have to be 28-7-03

Not neccessarily - It all depends on the regional settings you have set up in windows. In my system, it would be 28-Jul-2003.

Mik3 - Do you have a field called Date in your query? If so rename it to something else.

OK, Mr Pedantic! Yes, you're right. What I meant was that 28-7-3 won't be a valid medium date in any regional setting that I have encountered, you have to have at least two digits for the year.

Not being pedantic, just clarifying the situation - Don't want to confuse matters:p

tried to change the name of the date field in the query, format, etc. unsuccessfully
so i had to go around it and prompt the user to enter a date

Post the sql of the query, and have you checked for missing/broken references?
