:confused: I am trying to add a "now" field to my table and records.

I currently have 2234 records in my table (old records) and I would like to be able to query only new records, or records within a date perameter. I have tried the "Now()" function but I am getting an error in the field when I go to add new records.

I know this is something simple that is eluding me and it is frustrating. I am currently scouring the forums for an answer, but if someone has the answer before I find it in here, could you pls help me out. I am in the process of rebuilding my database and would like to get everything done before I move to the next level.

Thanks,
Irish

In the default property of the DateTime field that you added to your table (make sure General Date is selected as the format) then put
=Now()

Thanks for the reply, Bob. I am thinking that maybe I should go back to bed and wake up again. That is what I did the first time. The problem was that the field window was not long enough in the form.. so it was showing "#####"... lol...

I guess it helps when the field window is the correct size..lol

Thank you,
Irish

I have one other question for you, Bob... lol... probably an easy one too.. but i am still playing around with the changes and adds of Access 2007.

I have a main category and a sub category. I am currently using Combo Boxes to select the correct categories. However, what I have not set up yet, or actually ever, was the ability to sort the subs according to the main. If the sub is not related to the main, I don't want it showing as an option. And this is the last piece I need to put in place for the database... doesn't that suck... lol

Any ideas? Or am I risking a smack for another easy problem? lol

This is known as a cascading combo. There are plenty of examples in these forums if you do a search.
