Datediff problem

I'm having problems with a simple piece of code using datadiff. all i want is to know how days from today is 3/10/2006, which obivously will countdown as everyday gets closer.

Put this in a query, MyDate should be changed to the name of your field that holds the date 31/10/2006

Difference: DateDiff("d",Date(),[MyDate])

The answer for today (1st August 2005) is 456
