dates past todays date

this is probably a really easy one but,

i want my query to return any cars that have not been returned to the company past the date they where suposed to have been returned.

i tried using the formula >Date() but this doesnt seem to work and the access help is a load of crap.

can anyone help with this problem

it seems to be working now for some reason, thanks for the interest though
