DB sample for equipment testing,stock etc

Hi

I am trying to create a dB for a barcoding system. I understand how to impliment barcodes etc (getting the bars into numbers to enter data into the db).

What i am trying to do is create a db whereby i can enter data about a customer, have a project number assigned to a customer, have equipment linked to the project number via a barcode. the serial number of the barcode can be used to enter data about the equipment aswell as pull up info about the equipment.

There can be several pieces of equipment under a project number, even equipment under equipment. when an item has been scanned in, i only want to scan the item in once. i want to have forms which use the scanned number in several forms (posibly choosing the individual items on a form)
I dont want to repeat too much info (if any).


I also want to be able to enter a serial number into a form and pull the relevant info up (i know this should be done using a query but am having trouble).

I have tried building ths db but have had problems with relationships etc. Does anyone have a sample db which shows of logging equipment etc

I want to be able to edit the data, as well as have linked (noneditable)data into editable forms, with the function to search for part,

Any sample dbs out there?
