Default Value in text boxes?

Try:

Cost Difference: IIf(Len([SumOfBudget Cost] & "") = 0,[BasicCost],([BasicCost]-[SumOfBudget Cost]))

Nope still not doing it!!

I have attached a screen shot of the data set, the highlighted field, if that has a null value then , i want the basic cost to go in it, other do the rest of the if statement. This has worked for me loads in the past. Cant get my head round why it not working.

At this point I do not know why you are getting an error unless it has something to do with the Excel sheet.

I tried this initially, and then dumped into a table in access. I have no idea myself......

went home last night with the report saying error after making the changes to the query. Come in work and its working.
