Delete Query

I't wont let me run a delete query on a linked table running from excel.
Idealy id like to delete the data on the Excel sheet after ive finished with it.

Has anyone found a way round this?

Is it possible to control excel through Access and clear the linked range in the background.

I've encountered the same problem with Access 97.

Litwin's Access Developer's 97 Hanbook has a solution by which Excel data is "slammed" into Access. Check it out.
