Hi,

I want to distribute my application to various clients at multiple remote locations for data input. After capturing the data a copy is to be returned to me so that I can synchronize input from various location into a master DB. I used Access 2010.

My problem is, the remote computers may or may not have the correct version of Access (2010).

Is there a way of determining, during installation if the computer has Access 2010 installed so that Runtime files are not installed on such machines?

I have searched the forum for similar solution but couldn't find one.

Hi,
I asked this question and nobody responded, may be I am not clear enough.

In simple terms I want to check if the computer I am deploying my Application has Access 2010 installed. If Access 2010 is not installed then Access 2010 runtime to be installed and force the application to use the Runtime files.

Can somebody assist please?

It sounds like you want something like the Package Solution Wizard

The Package Solution Wizard provides a simple way to bundle and deploy Microsoft Access database applications. The wizard guides you through the steps necessary to bundle stand-alone Access applications into Setup packages. You can use the Package Solution Wizard to include the Access 2010 Runtime in your packages and to create shortcuts that invoke the appropriate Access file.

The output of the Package Solution Wizard is a Microsoft Windows Installer (.msi) Setup file that guides users through the installation of your Access application

Microsoft Access 2010 Package Solution Wizard is not available
