I designed a standard non-web based database and then imported all the objects into a web based database and checked to see if it was compatible for the web and no issues were found. I went to Options to select my navigation form to be the web display form and it's not on the drop down list. I tried just entering the form name but it wouldn't take it. Is there anyway around this? Do I have to create the form within the web-based database? How about the other forms that the navigation form will be used to open? Do they also have to be built in the web-based application? If that's the case I'm so screwed. Any assistance is appreciated.

I'm using the Autoexec feature to open the form anyway so will that work rather than listing it as the web display form?

jcribby, I first want to say I am not able to help you with your question. Sorry.

However, I'm needing to get into moving from a usual Access multi-user application to a web-based application and don't seem to find much on this here on this forum. What web-based software did you use? I'm looking for anyplace to start with this.

Thanks in advance, and good luck in having your own question answered.

The only option I've seen for Access is SharePoint. Everything I've read indicates that is the only option. A word of advise, talk with your IT staff to find out about your company's security policies before you waste a lot of time trying to get your database on a web browser. Also, keep in mind that when you use that check web compatibility feature, it's only looking at your tables and also keep in mind, Visual Basic will not run in a web browser. I kept working on the database and clicking check web compatibility throughout the process of designing the database just to find out it really wasn't web compatible so then I wasted time making it web compatible just to find out my company's security policy wouldn't allow me to publish it using the SharePoint server anyway. I did come up with a solution that didn't involve publishing it to the web. I guess the only positive I can take away from wasting a whole lot of time is that I learned a great deal that may aid me later on.
