I am relatively new to Access and this question may be silly but I'll give a shot; I have been designing a company report based on the sales records exported from the company's accounting system. I already have an exported set of the last year data in Access. My intention is to run daily reports from the source database, export them as text files and append them to the existing last year records in Access. Yes, but I am not certain what would be the best approach to do so? I have to mention here that some new records may override some records that are already in the database (e.g. if an invoice got edited, etc..). Is there an easy way to manage this scenario?
Thank you,
Peter

Sounds like you will need to delete the current year records and reimport. This means you will need to import the whole of the current year. Would that be an issue?

Naileg, thank you for your reply.
Well, my goal is to set this once and let the user use the report on daily basis. If necessary, I can do once-a-year adjusments to the report including removing one year data records. See, the report requires comparing current versus last year data so I always have to maintain at least two years of data. After end of the year, I am open to discard the old data.
Does that answer your question?

Not really!

I understand what you are doing (I'm an accountant). What I mean is that instead of trying to amend the current year data to reflect the invoicing changes and the new transactions, it would be easier to dlete the current year data every day and reimport the new version of the current year data.
