Hi,
I have been asked to build a fairly simple Access project by my boss and am desperate to have it finished by the end of the week.
Although I have some knowledge of databases, queries and programming etc I am new to Access.
I have been reading like mad but don't know if I shall be up to speed enough to have it finished in time.
Please may I ask your help?

I attach an image of the structure I believe my database should take.
Description:
There are several Banks, Companies, Relationships and Countries.
ANY combination of these 4 can make up an Entity (Entity table).
I then wish to store YEARLY numeric data (Data1 - Data10) for the Entity.

Firstly is my database structure OK?

Secondly I am desperately in need of help with creating a form which will enable me to input data (I shall worry about reports to show the data at a later stage).

I am happy to use Datasheet view to add the Banks, Companies, Relationships, Countries and Years.

I then want a form which will show 5 dropdowns (Banks, Companies, Relationsips, Countries and Years) with 10 textboxes below the dropdowns.
Then I can select the "combination" using the dropdowns and then add the info to the Data textboxes.

It would be good if once the first dropdown is selected (a Bank) that the form "updates" to show the number of records held for that bank.
Then when the second dropdown is selected (Company) the form would update to show how many records exist for the chosen bank AND company.
I am happy to simply use the "automatic" record counter wihch appears at the bottom of the screen for this.
This method would enable me to see if data already exists for the chosen Bank, Company, Relationship, Country and Year before I attempt to input any.

Is this a good method to use or is there a better way?
If there is a preferred method for inputting data in this type of structure please give me your ideas.

I really need some help on this as I don't know what to do or how to achieve it :(

Please help, thank you.

Hi Uncle Gizmo and thanks for your time.

I have read that article but don't quite understand what you are suggesting.

Should I hold all of my Data (and YearID) in the Entities table together with BankID, CompanyID, RelationshipID and CountryID?

Thanks again.
