I have a strange one that I am sure no one will have an answer for but...thought I would toss it out there as I am not finding much when searching the web.

I have a form that has a text box that is used to perform a string search on a field. As the user types the results are displayed and the hits become more specific based upon how much of the string they type. Have found an oddity where if the user types a word like cafe the Access program inserts the diacritic (accent mark - Café) as soon as they press the space key they lose all the results because there are not any diacritics in the words in the field they are searching on. I just don't know how or if the stupid "auto diacritic" fill can be turned off

I can post an example of the db. Just hoping maybe someone has encountered this and knows a solution.

It is in AutoCorrect and you can either disable the entire Autocorrect, or go change it, but I believe it is a PER USER option so you would need to disable for each user. Not sure of the code for turning it off.

Yes..it looks like it is Autocorrect. I found that I can go up to edit (Access 2000 db) and select undo autocorrect and it goes away. I don't mind turning it off per user because only one person uses this database. Any idea how to turn the thing off? I am still looking.

Found it. It is from Tools - Autocorrect (imagine that).

Thanks, now I can move on.
