can someone tell me what is the difference between the following:

DoCmd.Save and

DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord

are these two interchangeable or there are specific ways which shall be used when ?

Thanks !

The first one saves an object type such as a form, a query, or a table...
The second one, as it says, saves a record.

but similarly there is one DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSave, so is this the same as docmd.save ?

From what I can see the DoCmd.Save saves any object you specify while DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSave saves the immediate object.

DoCmd.Save is a macro option while DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSave is a menu option

The former requires arguments.
