Hi all,

I want to keep users from accidentally stumbling across the design view option when they right click on a form. I need to keep the "allow default shortcuts" option checked in the database options so they have right click functionality to sort, hide/unhide fields in datasheet views.

I've created shortcuts to the forms in a custom group and on the property of each form shortcut I've checked the disable design view shortcuts checkbox. If I click the shortcut it works fine, but once I close the DB and restart it I can right click and get the design view option again.

Any thoughts?

An accde file is not an option at this time. I'm looking specifically for a way to utilize the disable design view shortcut option as it is probably the quickest way to achieve what I need. Thanks for the link, but can't use it t this time.

If you check out Aphrodite in the sample forums, you can specify the shortcut menu. You can thank Chris-o for the code.

edit-Aphrodite will have a new release in the coming weeks featuring a ribbon builder. I'm still working on it, but it's already looking good.

...and because speakers_86 is too modest to put a link to his sample ;) you can find it here :D

Modest? HA! I've told referred people to Aphrodite so many times. You are kinda right though, I never really feel right advertising my own work like this. I could have just as easily referred him directly to Chris-O's upload.

But when I have the ribbon builder ready, I really think you guys will like it. It's only partially done and I can see already how much it will help with writing XML. I'm probably going to start a new thread and ask for feedback when it's ready.
