I would like in one of my forms to be able to have certain combo boxes grayed out unless based on other information in other combo boxes then the field would be enabled and need to be filled out.

For example, on my Main Form I have employee information and on my sub form I have a certification information as well as if the employee is currently active I need to know what craft code he is and which job he is on. But if the employee is not currently active I don't want or need to know that information but the form is requiring the job information even though I have it set to not required and null is ok.

So I thought it might be easier, especially for entry if the boxes are grayed out and only on those employees who are currently employed will the form require that information.

How would I go about starting this process? I know it will involve some coding which I will need help on.

Thank you!!

Will it matter if it is a Main Form and a Subform? They are linked by the EmployeeID so if I put the code in the Subform it should look at the Main form correct?
