I have a query that has three tables in it, one of the fields I'm using is a memo field. I get the information I need until I make the query Distinct, then it cuts the memo field in half???

BIO: I have been a Safety Manager and Trainer since 1997. I began my this career in several large manufacturing companies in the Pacific NW where I assisted in the development and implementation of company Accident Prevention Programs and training programs to support the reduction of accidents and hazard awareness to employees. Now I work exclusively with Operator training program development and conduct Forklift, Aerial/Scissor Lift, Rigging, Overhead Crane and Mobile Crane (including NCCCO Operator Certification) Operator training and certification programs. Prior to working in this field I was a Chief Missile Technician (Submarines) in the US Navy for 12 years where I achieved designation as “Master Trainer Specialist” while conducting Ballistic Missile launch simulation exercises and classroom training on weapons system components.

After I make the query "DISTINCT", this is what the bio field shows:

Hi, I remember reading somewhere that the DISTINCT is not compatible with Memo fields, therefore what's probably happening it is trimming your field to the full maximum text field, i.e. 255 characters.

Just curious about your reason for needing a "DISTINCT" here.
From what I see, I would assume the data in your memo field is always distinct anyway.
