display as a graph in excel

i need to be able to run a query and with the results, open an excel spreadsheet, i think usaing a premade template, export the data from the query into the spreadsheet then display a graph, based on this info.

I know this can be done as i have seen it, in other systems.

Can anybody point me in the right direction please.
