OK, I guess the best thing to do first is give a little description of what I am working with here.
I have a table that tracks invoices. For each invoice that is input, an autonumber is assigned. We take that autonumber and write it on the hard copy of the invoice, just in case we ever need to refer back to it. My question is would I be able to display the next autonumber that will be assigned at the top of the data entry form (on a new record)? I wouldnt bother, except that our autonumber field doesnt start at 1, because we had to continue the sequential numbering system when we transferred these operations to access.
