Question DLookUp????

:( I feel neglected now ( sob )

NigelShaw,
HA HA, Do not worry you was next on my list:) As stated in my reply to georgedwilkinson i am very grateful for the help and advice all of you have given to me her at AWF.
I am currently looking at the design of the form and also how i am storing it as i feel like you said the way i am adding a new records is not the best way. Like all projects it never pays to rush them and it was my intention to spend more time learning Access before needing to use complex code, but a pushy boss soon put an end to that.
Thanks for your time, effort and patients.

Regards
Steve

Hi Steve,

i was only kidding....

have you fixed it yet? i was going to look at this today as it is pretty straight forward though i would create an unbound form collecting the data OnLoad. i would change either change the embedded subform to a list or base the subform to a query with criteria set to the open forms EmployeeID which would then only show dates set to the current.

i will post it later tonight when i have looked at it unless of course, you have already fixed it in which case, i might leave it. In any case, it might be good practice to post your solution if you have done it on your own for the good of the forum as it comes up in searches for other people with less experience who might be looking for help. its better find even a part solution when searching rather than a search full of questions only.

NigelShaw,
Sorry for delay as it was my Birthday weekend, i have decided to redesign the Tables and forms. From reading your reply that would confirm my action, By all means if you have a possible solution or example that would aid me i would be very grateful. My weakness is code, i have just started a SQL course and once i am at a beginners level i intend to look more at VBA but it will be sometime before i am at the level of people like yourself.

George / WayneRyan,
Thanks for asking after all this time, sorry i did not reply to you earlier as i have been spending most of my time at college doing additional courses like Crystal reports and a couple of beginners courses in Networking. The project i was working on back then was a Holiday Database from the point of the company has been replaced by a Excel sheet??? but i am still doing little bits to it as its still my task to finish what i started. Amazing the info and samples on here, i seem to think i have found something good and until 5 minutes later when i find something better to do the job, lol. The DLookup works fine and i have been using DSum and DCount on some of the forms i have where there are List boxes in them. So thanks again for the help of yourself.s and all others like, NigelShaw, BobLarson, and Wazz.
I will be posting the finished item so to help other as all you have helped me.

Steve
