DoCmd.OutputTo problem...

Hi,

I need to output the table (22000 records) to excel spreadsheet. When I use the following code

DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputTable, "tblAutoPassExport", acFormatXLS

I receive the error message saying that 'Too many records to output'.

Is there a way around this limitation?

You should use the TransferSpreadsheet Method. Check the help files for more info and examples.

I have encountered a row limit in some versions of Excel. If memory serves, Excel97 was limited to 16,000 (or there abouts) rows. I have put more in some of the newer versions.

Excel 95 was limited to 12,865 (give or take a few) rows. Excel 97 is limited to 65,536. I suspect the OutputTo method is using an old parameter of Excel which is why I suggested the TransferSpreadsheet method for that method allows you to choose which version of Excel you want the file to be save in.
