Don't know where to begin

I've just started a computing course which involves making a database based on a linear specification. My tasks will involve a variety of things; from having two forms interact with eachother in order to produce results, and to simple formating.

Can anyone give me any advice on where to start? Are there some good tutorials out there, I'm having no luck so far.

I would have thought you course tutor should be doing the tutorials!

Have a look in these forums at the Sample Databases section, perhaps starting with some of the older ones.
