download gmail messages to table

I am trying to import Gmail messages to a table from a non-Outlook account. The purpose is to filter and report on correspondence regarding specific subjects and specific senders or recipients.

My searches have returned vba methods to send Gmail outside of Outlook, but no vba methods to retrieve Gmail messages outside of Outlook.

I did find a way to export the messages from Google, but the only format available is MBox, which I am unable to convert in usable format to a table.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

for downloading emails, if you don't use outlook you need to use an alternative (google 'alternatives to outlook'). Plenty out there. Alternatively there is EAGetMail here

There is also a freeware EagleGet with Chrome which in the search page claims to download gmail but when you click on the link, no mention

I have Outlook linked to my Gmail account. That works.

EA's reliable and easy to setup for mail in & out including Gmail. Unlimited free use for "testing/demo/evaluation" purposes.

I've never had a reason to try it. All my clients use Outlook.

However I am developing something for 'mom & pop' charities who being consumers are unlikely to have office, so may need it's services (at the moment it is just sending emails and not an issue to receive)

I have some experience with it, currently mainly for testing, to send SMS via email when something's going wrong.
