Hello All

I am developing a form for my department that tracks individual/ group projects. One of the things that I would like to incorporate are drop down menus. I did a "drop down menu" search in the Contents and Index option within Access with few results. . .

My question: How can I develop a drop down menu? Let me know if you need more background information.

Thanks:)

I believe that what you are looking after is called 'Custom Menu bar' in Access. Search Access help on those keyword to see if it matches your needs. Re-post if no luck.

Alex,

Thanks for the assistance. I followed your instructions and the results I received were more focused on customizing the menu bar (File, Edit, View, etc.) than creating a dop-down menu in my form.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Go to tools menu, customize. On the toolbar tab select new. Go to properties choose the type of menu you want(from what you've described it should be menu bar) Go to commands tab choose all the functions you want on your menu bar.

If you need anymore help let me know.

Thanks Hay- but that is not quite what I wanted. I do not want to format my Access tool menu, I want to create a drop down menu within my form . For example, when you reply to this message, the screen you type in your replay - you have the option to select a size of your font- click the down arrow and choose 'small,' 'large', or 'huge' - those are each displayed in a drop-down menu – this is the type of menu I want to incorporate in my form. Instead of ‘size,’ I want a menu titled ‘Project Category’ and the options would be ‘Fact Sheet’, ‘Quarterly Update’, ‘Presentation Books’ and so on. . .

Let me know if you understand :) and if you know how to do this.

Thanks.

I think I just found what I have been looking for. On the toolbox palette, I clicked on 'combo box' icon- this is what I want! Now I have to figure out how to configure. . . I will keep you all informed.

Thanks for your help!
