Hello all,

I am a student and in need of some serious help. For our Coursework we were told that we needed to create a database for a company of our choosing. I did some research and decided to pick a DVD rental shop as i thought this would be a good idea at the time. Now its come the time to actualy start making the thing and i am in serious trouble..i have no idea how to use access..i have tried going through all the tutorials but they confuse me more!

all i have so far is 4 tables..customers..DVD's..rentals.and Suppliers..i need to know how to create a input form so i can add new customers but when i try to create a form and then go to pick out the feilds..there is no fields to choose from!

i really really really need some help here.

Why for course work would you professor tell you to create a database for a made up company in which nobody knows how to use Access...were you cutting class lol.

Its probably not a database course, but they figured access would be easy enough to jump in and figure out.... BIG MISTAKE! haha

This sample really helps me a lot. Do you have a documentation on how it works??. It would really help. I am quite in a fuss. Deadline approaching.

Here ya go. I set the visible property of the detail section to false until you make a selection of a customer id or a supplier id. Instead of making them blank!

hi, i want to ask how to make that combo box works?
i mean the data when you choose the Supplier ID...

Hiya,
I appreciate this is a very old thread but I didn't want to post in a new one considering the similarity with this problem to my own.

I have a similar database system, I can view member details etc but adding a new rental of a specific film to a specific member by using a button is proving difficult.

Any help at all?
I have a query setup to append the fields to the appropriate table but it's not playing heh.

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

Sorry I don't have documentation, but it is very easy to understand. I hope after little efforts you will got it.

hi there i am also a student and struggling with databases as i have never needed to use them, so i had a look at the final attachment on this thread and i want to do something similiar to it but also with my database i have changed a box named availability so that i can tick or untick the box but i want it to be automatic so that when i type in the name of a movie or the movie id it will change the value so please how do i do this??
