Hello.

I have a form which shows costings of parts. When we get a new cost for a part we update the cost but then adjust either the retail or markup.

At present I have loads of cells which calc the price difference based on

Current markup giving calculated new retail
user defined new markup giving calculated new retail
user defined new retail giving calculated new markup

Is there a way in which I can combine some of these duplicated cells so that they can give a calculated answer but by clicking on them, enable them to be the editable field to then calculate one of the others.

So in a nutshell, I either change the retail / markup and I would love to have only 3 cells Cost, retail, markup and have retail or markup calculate based on the other 2.

Thank you.

You could perhpas bring a Tickbox (Yes/No) field into each record on the Form, defaulting at Yes (-1).

The calculated field would look at the Y/N indicator, and based on its value does one or other of the calculations that you want. Effectively, you'd have a calculation that you can 'toggle'.

Thank you, I thought that would be the case. I totally agree with your "knowledge about access until you came here" I feel the very same.

There may well be a better solution from the big posters on here, but I hope my suggestion works even if it's a bit of a workaround.

This Forum is great, I know double what I once knew but that's still only a small piece of the bigger picture!
