I have two seperate sites using our database which is stored on our main head office server.

One of the sites in another part of the country connects to our main server through remote desktop connection.

Two of our forms have "email" command buttons. When clicked they convert a report into a PDF and attach it to email.

This works really well at the head office site where each user has his own front end file.

The problem I have is when our remote desktop users connect and use this email function the PDF is created but then attaches to the servers microsoft outlook program rather than the users email program.

Is there anyway to get these PDF attachments to attach to the remote desktop users email program?

I beleive that we are using a free share third party module to create and attach these PDF's

Thanks

Anyone have any experiance with remote desktop connections?

With a remote desktop connection your users are are logging in to another PC and are not able to use the remote desktop users email program. Your options are:

1: If the PCs are connected via a vpn then create the pdf and copy it to the users workstation, they can then exit the remote desktop and create an email attaching the pdf.

2: Setup the email program on the server so that the user can send the email from the remote server, (you will have to make sure they can not receive emails!!).

3: Use CDO to create the email, attach the pdf, and send it. This is the option I use attaching and emailing html documents on my remote server.
