I have been using AOL for 25 years but lately it will take a long time to load or at times not load at all. I have a Gmail account but have never used it. I am thinking of switching. Any advice. Also is outlook an email. Tried googling this information but got nowhere.

Outlook is an email client, not itself an email provider. You can get an O365 email account from Microsoft, but it's not free.

Thanks Paul, long time since we talk. I have Office 365, but I take it 0365 is not the same as Office 365. I hate switching since all my stationary has AOL address and now the learning curve with Gmail, but AOL is becoming a pain.

I would recommend switching to Gmail for sure. It's a "lifetime" email address, (the only thing that makes sense to me personally), rather than a "temporary while I have ____ service", like Cox, Aol, Timewarner, etc

You will be able to use the Outlook program for your Gmail if you would like to.
