Empty a folder

I'm currently building a small application and one of the buttons needs to empty a folder on the c:/ local drive

is there a way to do this without removing the folder just all the contained files?

as a possible bonus i would like to get the folder location from the registry but this is non-essential, I know where in the registry the folder location is but have no idea really what needs to be done.
