I have two tables. T_Job and T_IP

T_Job has a PK of Job_Id and T_IP has a PK of L_IP and a FK to the T_Job talbe of L_Job_ID.

If I enter into a form a new job creating a new Job_ID why do I not have the new record in table T_IP?

I have two forms built of these tables and I can't see the new job in the form containing T_IP.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you ...happy holidays.

You do not see it because you don't have a way for the foreign key to be entered. It doesn't happen automatically unless you have main form with T_Job as the record source and a Subform on the main form with a record source of T_IP and then the master/child links set on Job_ID in the master spot and L_Job_ID in the child spot.

Ah! Thank you. It took me a bit to understand what you were saying, but I get it now. I had to use T_Job as for the form and T_IP as the Subform.

:D
