Ive been designing a database but i just encountered this problem when opening my database (specifically a form) and im not sure what it means or what it does...

it asks me to put in a value or something for 4 columns in a table but the 4 columns dont exist in the table....

all the fields in my form are unbound and shouldnt be requesting any data so im not sure what its requesting...
can anyone help?

have you checked the datasource of the form?

it appears this is true, but im not sure why the data source is necessary...

im planning to create a form which has a set number of records which can be searched through a drop down field... then when that record is picked, it will search through the database to find the corresponding fields associated with that record ID...

i will also have an update button used to update the record, i have no reason to create a new record or edit records on the fly... all of my fields are unbound for this reason.

can I just remove the record source all together?
