Entry duplicated itself

Hi all:

When I entered an amount of $365 in a subform. It shows twice in table and even when I go back to subform itself. However the original entry is only entered once. Can anyone tell why this must have happened. It messes up my reports and balances and all.please help!

This is the first time I have seen it happened.

No I entered it once only. It shows only once on the form where I can enter. its the table and subform where it shows twice. how I can tell that it has duplicated itself is that the one I enter legitimately is associated to a project ID, but this duplicated one shows no project ID (Project ID field is empty).

Form and subform are linked at the Project ID field. I think thats the right way because payment has to be linked to a project. But the duplicated payment was not associated to any project. as I said earlier that the Project ID field was empty for duplicated record. If my Master/Child linking is not right, I don't know how to go about troubleshooting it. Can you help? or you won't ba able to. I didn't create this DB. I don't want to be the one to mess it up. It is highly imp. db, they track pmts. and funding thru this db. You can imagine.
