Error Codes

Access gives error on duplicate entry, duplicate indexed field, violation of validation rule etc. etc. but it does not give error code.
I want to display custom error messages for common error that come during data entry for the end user but don't know where to find error codes so that I can do some tweaking using vba
please guide me in detail
